نشأة العلم وتطوره - الوراثة والجينات
Heredity and genes occupy a large part of our thinking and plans. Modern biology began with Mendel, who suffered a lot in life and in death. Through his hands, the first implementation of genetics and modern biology came into existence, despite his neglect and his lack of understanding why he failed the biology test three times in a row, which he never passed! Mendel was a monk, Darwin, Newton and many other scientists were students of theology, and the monasteries preserved the heritage and translations that brought ancient science to modern times. The twentieth century began by bringing Mendel back to life (morally, not physically), after neglect while he was alive and claims by some scientists who dealt with genetics and its laws that they had not read Mendel’s writings, including Darwin. He was brought back with accusations that he had falsified some of the results, such was the fate of Gregor Mendel. In the scope of the book in our hands, we are presented with genes, nucleic acids, DNA and RNA, and the story of the discovery of the double helix and the role that Rosalind Franklin and her assistant, Wilkins, played in that. However, the most prominent thing that happened was cloning, with its most notable problems and successes, “Dolly the Sheep.” There is no doubt that professional ethics has had a significant impact on the rules
