الأرض أو الكائن.. القرار العظيم للفلسفة المعاصرة

الأرض أو الكائن.. القرار العظيم للفلسفة المعاصرة

Translated

This book aims primarily to achieve two things: First, to convey the idea that prevailing continental thought, represented by the philosophical authorities that emerged during the French May Revolution in 1968, no longer meets the needs of thinking in our present. His second goal is more controversial, as he proposes the hypothesis that contemporary thought finds it difficult to interact with current problems when it chooses the Heideggerian abstraction of existence instead of delving into the idea of the Earth as transcendent to original experiences, which is the idea that characterizes Husserl’s late thought. The famous philosopher and thinker José Luis Villacañas analyzes the history of continental philosophy in the twentieth century to reconstruct the choice between existence and earth. It seeks to identify the philosophical policies that were followed around 1929, the paths that were explored, and the turning points that shaped the path of contemporary thought. The author discusses Husserl's late legacy and his preoccupation with the life world, Plessner's philosophical anthropology of the body, the motives of ontological difference according to Heidegger and his debate with Cassirer in Davos about Kantianism, Merleau-Ponty's phenomenology of nature and the influence of Derrida. This exploration reveals how a philosophy centered on the question of existence represented a Gnostic escape from a world that desired no connection with humanity or the Earth—that is, the truly transcendent world of philosophy.
