غسيل الأدمغة، تاريخ التحكم في العقول
The British thinker Daniel Beck, in his book “Brainwashing, the History of Mind Control”, which was translated into Arabic by Asaad Al-Maalouf (Dar Al-Saqi, 2025), confronts the term “brainwashing”, in the era of advanced communication technology and totalitarian ideologies. Define the term “washing Brain](https://www.independentarabia.com/node/637838/%D8%AB%D9%82%D8%A7%D9%81% D8%A9/%D9%83%D8%AA%D8%A8/%D8%BA%D8%B3%D9%8A%D9%84-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%A3%D8%AF%D9%8 5%D8%BA%D8%A9-%D9%87%D9%84-%D8%AB%D9%85%D8%A9-%D9%85%D8%AC%D8%A7%D9%84-%D9%84%D 9%84%D8%AD%D8%B1%D9%8A%D8%A9-%D9%81%D9%8A-%D8%B9%D8%B5%D8%B1%D9%86%D8%A7%D8%9F)" In the 1950s and 1960s, it became widespread as a convenient means for developing totalitarian ideologies and purifying the mind of all previous beliefs. It was then used to refer to everything that opposes traditional values and the stability of Western society after World War II. He called closed political systems, Stalinism, Maoism, and Neonazism, as well as extremist religious ideology and populism. But this term has always been ambiguous, difficult to define precisely, and controversial and carries contradictory connotations. Can the interests of financial news providers, broadcasters, analysts, and experts be considered to fall within the context of “brainwashing,” or does this word indicate the most extreme practices, including those that have developed horribly within closed societies and fanatical sects? In "Brainwashing, the History of Mind Control," Daniel Beck addresses this problematic question. He argues that, contrary to unilateral interpretations, the issue of brainwashing deserves consideration even in relatively open political systems or institutional environments, as people in these systems and environments are exposed to misleading narratives, imaginary promises, and false assurances.
