ما بين السياسة القديمة والجديدة
ما بين السياسة القديمة والجديدة
In the face of the crisis caused by the "disaster of 1998", Ortega sought to build a common project to revitalize Spanish life through culture, and to sensitize society to its conditions with the aim of changing them. This endeavor culminated in his lecture "Politics Old and New", which he delivered at the Teatro Commedia of Madrid on 23 March 1914, the same year in which he published his Meditations on Don Quixote. This work was accompanied by the founding statement of the Spanish Association for Political Education, which he drafted himself, inaugurating his active involvement in politics. This work also includes some of the most important political articles written during this early period, between 1906 and 1919. Events in Spain and Europe presented additional challenges to the efforts of this active analyst of the Spanish and European situation.
