جريمة القتل في الميدان
جريمة القتل في الميدان
On Thursday, June 30, 2022, 32-year-old Theodor Engström boarded the ferry to Gotland, carrying a solo tent and newly purchased weapons in his suitcase. Less than a week later, he attacked the psychological affairs coordinator, Ing-Marie Wieselgren, with a knife on a public street during Almedlen Week. She died later that day, and Visby was left paralyzed. Although Engstrom was quickly arrested and confessed, many questions remained. Is it related to right-wing extremism, terrorist crimes, or psychological disorders? More importantly: Were there other victims targeted? Engstrom calls himself a “ghost boy” who wanted to “wake up” the community. During the trial, Engstrom's motives became central, as did the mapping process he carried out, among others, to Annie Love and SVT director Hannah Stern. Through surveillance cameras and extensive evidence, his preparations can be traced, both from his home in Småland and to the site of the events in Visby. How is it possible that this crime occurred in the heart of Swedish democracy? Where is the line drawn between terrorist crimes? Criminal lawyer Thomas Bodström and journalist Lars Olof Lambers describe the details of this tragic case, with valuable comments on the work of the police and the judiciary. Interviews were conducted with prosecutors, police officers, prosecutor Annie Love, and others to enrich this book.
