Federico García Lorca, the much-studied poet and playwright, is a figure whose creativity is limitless, and who still has much to tell us. These letters give us a glimpse into his family life: he is the eldest son of Don Federico and Doña Vicenta, and the loving and protective brother of Paco, Concha and Isabelita. More than a traditional biography, these correspondences bear witness to a rich life, and paint the deepest and most accurate portrait ever drawn of Granada's most cosmopolitan figures. I was deeply moved as I read the letters of Federico, this hardworking poet, fierce advocate of his responsibility to the world, chronicler of his travels, dreamer, and witty and humorous man. Reading these letters, which are presented to us as a kind of intimate and familial narrative (Oh, Vicenta, worried about her son's health and his dreams!), brings the beloved poet back to life. I can only express my gratitude to Victor Fernandez for the gift of sharing his decades of brilliant and meticulous work with us. Victor Fernández is one of Spain's leading experts on Federico García Lorca and his circle. In this book, after a great effort and including many previously unpublished materials - Florca is inexhaustible, always surprising us - Fernández collects the extraordinary correspondence between the poet and his family, especially his mother. Everyone who loves the works of this genius from Fuente Vaqueros, a martyr, like Mariana Pineda, for freedom, will enjoy reading this book.
