The war in Gaza, as depicted through texts and photographs by Mads Gilbert. While Mads Gilbert was working at Shifa Hospital in Gaza in July 2014, he always carried his camera in the pocket of his green surgical gown. In his book, his photographs tell the stories of people in the hell of war in Gaza, and the horrific suffering and death inflicted on Palestinian civilians. But the book also tells a story of the almost incomprehensible courage and perseverance, the will to work and the high morale of Palestinian health workers and volunteers, and indeed of the entire Palestinian community under enormous pressure in Gaza, occupied Palestine, 2014.
