Larry Schweickart received widespread acclaim for his New York Times bestselling book, A Patriotic History of the United States. Now, in his book A National History of Globalization, he shows that globalization, or the attempt to create a one-world government, is nothing new. Following Napoleon's defeat in 1814, globalists (mostly monarchs) sought to create a system of government for Europe. Within forty years, three of the major parties were at war with each other. After World War I, they tried again at Versailles, this time changing state borders and moving populations more aggressively. This attempt only lasted twenty years before another major war broke out between the parties. Once again, after World War II, globalists used the threat of the atomic bomb to try to form an international government in cooperation with the United Nations. More recently, the World Economic Forum and the World Health Organization are trying to reduce the influence of nationalities through global control of money and medicines. But there are indications that this trend has reversed and begun to decline. The book "The History of Globalization from a National Perspective" is the primary reference for the history of globalization.
