ديكارت .. الأخلاق
Although Descartes did not write a book dedicated to moral philosophy, his thoughts on moral issues are present in his correspondence and in parts of his book, The Passions of the Soul. In 1685, an anonymous editor in London collected these writings into a textbook devoted to Descartes' moral thought. Roger Ariot translated the selections included in the 1685 volume from Descartes' original French texts, adding to those writings an appendix of relevant material, including the third part of the Essay on Method on provisional ethics, part of the introduction to the French edition of the Principia Philosophy on the "tree" of philosophy, and parts of additional letters that help illuminate the background correspondence included in the 1685 volume. Ariot's insightful introduction explains the contexts in which Descartes addressed moral questions, and the reasoning behind His reluctance to write specifically about ethical issues, and the importance of what this collection of writings reveals.
