Neil deGrasse Tyson is an astrophysicist and the bestselling author of "Astrophysics for the Impatient," among other books. He has been the director of the Hayden Planetarium at the American Museum of Natural History since 1996. Dr. Tyson is also the host and co-founder of the popular Emmy Award-nominated podcast "StarTalk" and its spin-off, "StarTalk Sports Edition," which blend science, humor, and pop culture. He holds 23 honorary doctorates, the National Academy of Sciences Medal of Public Service, and the NASA Distinguished Public Service Medal. Asteroid 13123 Tyson was named in his honor. He resides in New York City.
