The Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research was established on March 14, 1994, by Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. This is in accordance with the decree of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan - may God have mercy on him - when he was serving as Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.
