The Center for Arab Unity Studies published the book America’s Facts and Paths, by Dr. Ziad Hafez. This book sheds light on the American domestic landscape and seeks to deconstruct its future paths; The United States has entered a period of decline due to the choices and policies it has followed for several decades on the political, economic, military, and cultural levels, which have led to the loss of elements of its previous power. Abandoning the industrial production structure and replacing it with a rentier financial economy was reflected in the political and social structure. There is a new class of administrative professionals who have become controlling matters and isolated from the people. Also, a new culture that is contrary to the American cultural heritage has come to control universities, the media, the behavior of citizens, and even the armed forces, on the basis of diversity, fairness, and inclusion rather than competence and experience. As a result of these transformations, constitutional institutions, such as the judiciary, Congress, and electoral processes, became hostage to changing desires and moods, which lost their ability to resolve conflicts peacefully. Cases of internal division have become general and deep-rooted, threatening to undermine internal cohesion. This difficult situation has led to the rise of a populist movement that wants to correct the paths, but the potential for its success is still unclear due to the absence of an integrated program that approaches the causes of the decline and the required solutions. The book also highlights the role of the deep state, its components, its method of operation, and its influence on political life, which makes the conflict between the components of American society further aggravate and perhaps explode. The book includes three chapters, as well as an introduction, references, and index.
