There is another way. In 2024, journalist Nicole Egloff visits twelve Swiss farms, one of which is the Radeslihof farm that inspired the book's title, and which is blazing new trails to produce healthy, sustainable food for all. Egloff spent three days on each farm, immersing herself in the reality of life within their farming communities. I learned about edible forests, local livestock breeds, and water harvesting systems. In her conversations with farm owners, she sought to discover the changes needed to make food production more sustainable while continuing to meet the needs of a growing population. An interview with a researcher from the Agroscope Research Institute and a scientist from the Organic Farming Research Institute (FiBL) provides an insight into the current state of scientific developments, complementing the findings and insights that emerged from the farm visits. The book shows that solutions exist, and that there are many paths that lead to them. Politicians, farmers and consumers are all called to action.
