الهوس بالكوارث
الهوس بالكوارث
The poems in this collection explore how disaster narratives, past and future, exploit “catastrophia,” a term coined by the poet to describe a love or fascination with apocalyptic disasters. Is this some kind of self-destructive madness, or are there spiritual or metaphysical insights to be discovered? Inspired by mythology, archeology and esoteric literature, these poems give voice to mystics, heretics, alchemists and gods, mythological and historical figures, from Hermes to Anubis, from Plato to Carl Jung, to Paracelsus, Giordano Bruno and John Dee. These poems use the magical philosophies of the Renaissance, contemplating the cyclical nature of time, and the creative articulation of memory and imagination. It is filled with strange creatures, shapeshifters, psychics and ghosts who share hidden wisdom.
