Renegade Politics ## Advocating for Youth Political Participation Youth have the answers, and we must involve them in finding the solutions. Canada’s patriarchal political system needs a revolution. Young people need allies, those who are willing to harness their political influence to engage them in developing better policies and programmes. From the centers of political decision-making, leaders from across Canada are standing up to argue that youth engagement systems are flawed. Canada's Ambassador to the United Nations, Bob Rae, Senators Stan Kutcher and Marylou McPhedran, Medal of the Order of Canada Irwin Elman, staff of the Prime Minister's Youth Council, and civil society leaders from across Canada seek to make political space for the voices of those who understand what is really going on here and now in our schools, psychological support services, and child protective services. Rebel Politics presents stories that are shocking, inspiring, and hopeful. With an increased sense of humanity and genuine curiosity, we can bring marginalized youth into decision-making positions, building a more inclusive, just and caring Canada.
