حرب الثورة الأمريكية
#### From the colonies to global history...a war story in the book “The War of the American Revolution.” Not all revolutions are simple tales of liberation, nor do all wars end at the borders of their homelands. In the book “The American Revolutionary War... A Brief History” by the British historian Stephen Conway, issued by the National Center For translation Headed by Professor Dr. Rasha Saleh and translated by Asmaa Amin Ali Ahmed, we are approaching one of the most ambiguous and complex moments in modern history, as the revolution transforms from a local act into a global conflict that redraws the maps of power and influence. The book deconstructs the common mythological image of the American War of Independence, revealing that it was not a bilateral confrontation between rebellious colonies and a declining empire, but rather it was a broad theater of a fierce international conflict, in which the major European powers participated, and in which political, military, and economic interests intersected. From Boston to Yorktown, from the salons of European politics to the battlefields, the war unfolds as a severe test of the very idea of revolution. Conway does not limit himself to recounting the facts or tracking the battles, but rather proposes a critical historical reading that reconsiders the meaning of “liberation,” and places the birth of the United States within the context of global imperial competition in the eighteenth century, where victory was not inevitable, nor was defeat merely a military outcome, but rather a watershed moment in the formation of a new identity and a different international order. This book is part of the publications of the National Translation Center to provide the Arab reader with a profound text of knowledge that opens the door to contemplation of the relationship between revolution and war, history with myth, and the local with the global.
