The Center for Arab Unity Studies issued the fourteenth edition of the book “The Arab Political Mind: Its Determinants and Manifestations” by Dr. Muhammad Abed Al-Jabri. With increasing preoccupation with questions and attempts to answer the reasons for the faltering of the Arab renaissance, the Arab thinker Muhammad Abed al-Jabri is heading in the search for those answers in an unprecedented direction, knocking on the door of the Arab mind in search of the factors that faltered in the rise of this mind in preparation for establishing an actual integrated Arab renaissance project. Al-Jabri goes into research into the mechanisms of operation of this mind, its determinants, and its components, not as an intellectual, theoretical, and cognitive repository of the various issues, topics, and problems in which Arab thought has worked since at least the late nineteenth century until today, but rather as a tool for thinking about those issues, a tool for producing knowledge, and thus a tool for reproducing Arab-Islamic culture, whose elements, trends, and contradictions, in turn, contributed to defining the components of this mind at its various cognitive, political, and value levels. Providing a critical structural reading and a comprehensive review of its mechanisms, concepts, perceptions and visions. Al-Jabri produced this huge foundational intellectual work to criticize the Arab mind in a series of four-part books that took more than twenty years to work on, examining the formation of the Arab mind, the structure of this mind, and the Arab political mind and the Arab moral mind.
