Decoding Iran's Foreign Policy Strategic Interests, Power and Influence

From this perspective, Tehran's foreign policy appears to be a mixture of ideological motives and realpolitik calculations linked to the national interest. The book provides an analytical reading of the course of Iranian foreign policy since the Islamic Revolution in 1979 until today, in an attempt to understand the mechanisms of decision-making in Tehran in light of a complex regional and international environment. The author poses a set of basic questions: How are Iranian foreign policy decisions formulated? How do the challenges imposed by regional and global powers affect the calculations of the Iranian leadership? What is Tehran's expected behavior in the coming years?
